Cegasa

Founded in 1934 under the name Tximist, Cegasa was Spain’s first battery manufacturer and one of the first in Europe. They have played a leading role in many of the key technological developments in the sector and have become one of the most prominent energy storage companies in Europe.

1956 – production of electrolytic manganese dioxide starts
1959 – production of consumer batteries with Leclanche technology starts
1983 – The Cegasa brand is created to replace the Tximist brand
1992 – ‘Peak energy batteries’ launched and heavy metals removed from alkaline batteries
1998 – production of Super-Alkaline batteries starts
2002 – high-tech products (evolution battery) are launched
2009 – first lithium batteries launched
2014 – first 300kWh BESS solution launched
2018 – E/Bick Pro180 and E/Bick Ultra 100 solutions launched
2021 – E/Bick Pro280, Solargreen and E/Bick Ultra175 and a range of alarms with zinc-air batteries are launched
2023 – new CEGASA brand launched
