NOVA battery design uses the latest technology. NPX batteries integrate the latest acid recombination technology to effectively control gas generation during normal use. With our lead acid batteries, there is never a need to check the specific gravity or replace or top up water. All that is needed is a discharge and recharge every six months to preserve battery life.

IMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT: Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) or Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) batteries
VRLA and SLA are interchangeable terms and are the chemical compound most commonly used in UPS applications and are found in most cars, trucks and motorcycles as they are known to support high discharge rates in standby applications.
If an individual SLA battery is allowed to discharge below 10.5 VDC, it is likely to be impossible to recover. A single SLA battery with a voltage below 10.5 VDC should be discarded accordingly.
Most UPSs are smart enough not to allow the individual battery voltage to drop as low as 10.5 VDC, but if a UPS is stored, the battery can self-discharge below the 10.5 VDC limit.
Therefore, SLA batteries should not be stored without charging for more than 3-6 months. If SLA batteries are to be stored for more than 3 months, arrangements should be made to charge the batteries every 3 months for 24 hours.
Most SLA batteries take 8-24 hours to fully charge, regardless of size or capacity.
