A halogen-free cable is normally defined as a power cable that does not contain PVC plastics. Standard halogen-free cables offer a high degree of safety for people, nature, buildings and machinery, but have a major drawback – they are often too inflexible to compete with PVC in all applications. This is not the case with SABIX®. Halogen-free cables with SABIX® material have significant technical advantages over PVC.

SABIX® Ultra | Flexibility and fire protection
Fire protection | Halogen-free | Flexible | Oil resistance – These are the characteristics that are united by our SABIX® Ultra cables. Due to the new sheath material, the cables can be used for flexible applications and exhibit the highest fire protection properties such as EN 60332-3 Cat C or D, respectively the French standard NF C 32-070 C 1.
For example, the cables are used as festoon cables for polar cranes in nuclear power plants. In rail technology, these cables are used as sensor cables or as flexible control cables at train doors. Due to the very good oil and fuel resistance, application in industrial environments is also recommended. SABIX® Ultra material can also be used for cable chain applications with moderate mechanical stress.
